Walt Disney World President George Kalogridis has announced that Kevin Meyers, vice president of hotel operations will retire in December, but not before overseeing operations while Disney continues to negotiate with several labor unions. Meyers will also make sure the company is prepared for more international growth.

Meyers has been with the Disney company since the Magic Kingdom opened in 1971.

With Meyers' retirement, Walt Disney World will merge the hotel and transportation operations, with Tom Wolber taking the lead as Senior Vice President for Walt Disney World Resort Operations and Transportation.

Wolber had been in charge of sports related business such as the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and run Disney, as well as Downtown Disney. Before that he was second in command at Disney Cruise Line.

Maribeth Bisienere moves from food and beverage merchandise operations and will run the sports businesses and Downtown Disney, as well as the resorts two water parks and two miniature golf courses.
