A guest on Walt Disney World's Pirates of the Caribbean ride got the tips of two of his fingers cut off this morning, July 10, 2014. The injury was confirmed by the Reedy Creek Fire Department; the guest involved was a male from the United Kingdom. The tip of his pinkie finger and his right ring finger were cut off, though the exact method of injury is not yet known. There are several rumors going around, some of which state that he had his hand in the water as the boat went down the drop. There are no confirmed details yet verifying if this is true or not.

The ride was shut down for inspection for five hours after the incident, but has since reopened. The injured guest was taken to a local hospital.
