Rumor: Star Wars Land coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios?

The website themeparkinsider.com is reporting that a major overhaul is coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios; one that would include not only the rumored Cars Land, but also - Star Wars Land. We first discussed the possibility of Cars Land coming to Florida back in July 2012 and ever since Disney bought Lucasfilm, fans have hoped for a Star Wars Land. Among the reasons cited by Theme Park Insider is the boom in attendance at Disney California Adventure, up 23% since Cars Land opened last year. Walt Disney World's new president, George Kalogridis, was heading up the Disneyland Resort at the time, so his move to Florida could have been very strategic. Word is that Cars Land will take the place of not only the Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show, but the Backlot Tour as well. Geographically, this would place Cars Land right next to Pixar Place and Toy Story Mania. The site states that rumors are placing the new Star Wars Land next to Star Tours, and removing either MuppetVision3D and the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure or the Backlot Express and Indiana Jones amphitheater. If this comes to fruition, the remodel should be done in 2018.
