SeaWorld, Universal and Epcot honored by Amusement Today

SeaWorld Orlando, Universal Orlando and Epcot were honored in the 2014 Amusement Today Golden Ticket Awards. The newspaper surveys theme park enthusiasts in an annual poll and presents the awards across 25 categories.

SeaWorld Orlando received a Golden Ticket for Best Marine Life Park for the ninth consecutive year; SeaWorld San Diego took 2nd place in the same category.

The SeaWorld Rescue Team were named "Persons of the Year" as a Publisher's Pick. They were described as showing "tireless dedication to animal welfare and ongoing commitment to the education, conservation and rehabilitation of animal life."

One of SeaWorld's founders, the late George Millay, was honored with the Legends Series Award, which "pays tribute to an amusement park legend who has impacted the industry in a unique way."

Universal Orlando received a bevy of awards, including Best Dark Ride for Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, Best Water Ride for Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls, Best Indoor Coaster for Revenge of the Mummy and Best Halloween Event for Halloween Horror Nights.

Epcot's IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth won Best Outdoor Night Show Production.
