Walt Disney World donates 25,000 pairs of socks to local charities

Walt Disney World has found a new way to donate to a charitable organization. All summer, guests at Disney's Hollywood Studios had the chance to ice skate at the Frozen Summer Fun event. Included in the cost of skating was skate rental and a pair of socks, since many guests came to the parks in sandals. Disney began to collect the socks that guests didn't keep and so far, has been able to donate about 25,000 pairs of socks to local charities. Disney's textile services department laundered the socks first, which were then donated to Harvest Time International, Community Hope Center, the Coalition for the Homeless and the Osceola Council on Aging.
