John Lasseter to direct Toy Story 4
Nov 6, 2014

Bob Iger, Walt Disney CEO, has announced plans for Toy Story 4, set to be directed by John Lasseter. Lasseter, who is Chief Creative Officer at both Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios, hasn't directed a film since Cars 2 in 2011, but did direct the first two Toy Story films. Iger said, "John created Toy Story and directed the first two films, and it's great to have him back directing one of our most valuable properties."

Iger made the announcement in an investors' quarterly earning call on Thursday, November 6. He didn't mention whether any of the original voice actors would be returning, but many of them have reprised their parts in the previous films and in a series of television specials, so it stands to reason that they will be heard in Toy Story 4.

No plot details were released; the film will premiere in June 2017.
