Disney's Animal Kingdom will be celebrating its 15th anniversary on April 22. Because of their focus on conservation, the park's opening date was chosen to coincide with Earth Day.

This year, there will be some special events held at the park to celebrate both the anniversary and Earth Day:

* 8:40 am - Opening ceremony at the Tree of Life. Speakers will include Josh D'Amaro, Vice President of Disney's Animal Kingdom; Dr. Jackie Ogden, Vice President of Animals, Science and Environment; and Joe Rohde, Senior Vice President of Walt Disney Imagineering Creative.

* 9:00am - 5:00pm - "Party for the Planet" - interactive activities revolving around animals and nature will be happening around the park.

* In Africa and Discovery Island, guests can watch artists create unique art that will also be available for purchase.

* Limited 15th anniversary merchandise, food and beverages will be available for purchase.
