Disneyland's 'Little Mermaid' attraction opening next year

Plans for Disneyland's "Little Mermaid" themed attraction are taking shape. The estimated cost is $100 million and the opening date is expected to be in early 2009.

The ride will replace California Adventure's "Golden Dreams" and will have five segments: "Part of Your World", "Poor Unfortunate Soul", "Under the Sea", "Kiss the Girl" and a reprise of "Part of Your World."

Guests will ride in clamshell shaped vehicles. The exterior of "The Little Mermaid" attraction will have a play area with fountains and water gardens surrounding a sand castle theme.
