FastPass+ required to ride Toy Story Mania this week

Walt Disney World is in the process of another FastPass+ test, this time on Toy Story Mania at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Through Thursday October 9, guests will only be able to ride the popular attraction if they have secured a FastPass+ reservation in advance. FastPass+ reservations can be set up in advance on the guests' My Disney Experience accounts or at the park on a designated kiosk. Spokeswoman Marilyn Walters did say that additional FastPasses will be issued to meet demand, but she didn't have the numbers on how many that might include. She said, "The whole goal is how do you give people the opportunity to do their top experiences without having to stand in line for an unreasonable amount of time."

Disney didn't give a reason for the test, but fans have their own ideas. Soundstage One, a building right next to Toy Story Mania, has been put under construction this weekend and assumptions are that this will become an additional track for the attraction. If this test goes well, there is the possibility that this new track could be designated as FastPass only.
