TSA cracks down on mismatched tickets, ID's
May 26, 2009

The Transportation Safety Administration is cracking down on ID's and plane tickets where the names don't match. As part of a renewed effort to increase security at the nation's airports, the TSA has issued directives instructing their staff to ensure that the name printed on a plane ticket or boarding pass exactly matches the name that appears on a travelers ID.

This could cause significant delays for travelers who are used to leaving off a middle initial, or suffix like "Jr" or "Sr".

The TSA is urging all travelers to make sure their ID matches the names they provide to airlines when purchasing tickets.
