Several attractions at the Disneyland Resort were closed without notice today. At Disneyland Park, Space Mountain is closed. Matterhorn Bobsleds has been closed for a few days, but was scheduled to close for testing Monday through Thursday for the next two weeks, beginning April 15. Soarin' Over California is closed at Disney California Adventure.

A cast member at Disneyland's City Hall confirmed to us that the attractions were closed by the state Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), who deals with employee safety.

DOSH conducted a review of the attractions on Friday as a result of an incident in November where an outside contractor slipped on the roof of Space Mountain. The official violations and citations report has been made public and an excerpt explains one of the backstage violations.

"During the course of the inspection and prior, the employer, Disneyland Resort, failed to provide guardrails on all open sides of unenclosed elevated work locations more than 30 inches above the floor, ground, or other working areas of a building (Space Mountain) at Disneyland Resort."

More attractions will be reviewed, so additional temporary closures are still possible.

Update 4/15/13: The Matterhorn Bobsleds reopened the next day.
