SeaWorld tries to reach settlement with OSHA
Jul 2, 2010

The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that SeaWorld is attempting to reach a settlement with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) over the recent death of a trainer. The trainer, Dawn Brancheau, was pulled into the water and killed by the whale, Tilikum. This pre-citation settlement would allow SeaWorld to adopt new policies and rules without being cited by OSHA for not having these policies in place earlier. It would avoid major fines for the aquatic park.

SeaWorld says they have not entered into any agreement with OHSA, but they have communicated with them. OSHA has until August to complete their investigation.
