Universal Orlando raises ticket prices
Jun 20, 2011
Universal Orlando is taking a cue from Disney and has raised its ticket prices, just one week after Walt Disney World did the same thing. A one-day, one-park ticket at Universal is now $85, the same as a ticket to Disney. Presumably, the continued popularity of the one-year old Wizarding World of Harry Potter was a factor in the increase. Universal raised other ticket prices as well; the three-day ticket had the highest increase, jumping from $139.99 to $155.99. The seven-day ticket option is no longer available, and is being replaced by a 14-day unlimited admission ticket good for Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, and Wet 'n Wild water park for $194.99.
One benefit that Universal continues to offer is a discount if tickets are purchased online ahead of time. The discount was $10 per ticket and has been raised to $20 per ticket, a significant savings. A few ticket prices will remain the same, including annual passes and Florida resident one-day, one-park tickets.
