Orca Advocates Demand Florida Breeding Law Due to Concerns over SeaWorld’s Policy

SeaWorld abandoned its controversial killer whale breeding program back in 2016, but that was only a change in company policy; animal rights advocates are now pushing for laws to cement the decision. SeaWorld San Antonio’s Last Captivity-Born Orca Calf Has Died

Kyara, a 3-month-old killer whale calf born into captivity at SeaWorld San Antonio, passed away on July 24th. The park had ended its orca breeding program in March of 2016, and Kyara was conceived before that announcement; she was the last calf born as a result of SeaWorld’s orca breeding.
