Tornado Watch Issued Thursday for Walt Disney World Area

The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for portions of northern and central Florida, effective until 3 PM Eastern on Thursday. Tornadoes and damaging wind gusts are possible into the early afternoon.

A Tornado Watch means that conditions are favorable for tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area highlighted in the graphic above. Folks in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible warnings.

According to the latest reports, counties around the Walt Disney World Resort, including Orange, Seminole, Osceola, and Brevard, should watch for local weather alerts.
