Is This a Thing? Everglazed’s Maple Double Bacon Donut

Sometimes, we come across unexpected menu items during our travels throughout the Walt Disney World Resort that make us do a double take. At times, it will be a profound feeling to immediately purchase and eat a new special treat at first sight. Other times, there is an element of uncertainty that leaves us needing a bit of help. Today, I am asking for your opinions on one curious snack option in Disney Springs that has me feeling less than convinced it would be a good idea. It’s the Maple Double Bacon donut from Everglazed on the West Side of Disney Springs.

Now, I’m not one of those crazies who can’t have food groups touching or someone who feels particularly one way or another about mixing sweet and savory flavors; however, this one does have me perplexed. At some point, I will need to try it for myself, but while I am gearing up for that moment, I need to hear some of your opinions. Does one order this option when they are feeling in the mood for bacon, or in the mood for a donut? I know that many believe in the healing powers of the two flavors coming together in holy matrimony, though making a home atop a donut just seems like a little extra, doesn’t it?

I need to know. The donut in question is part of The Funky Bunch range, priced at $5.95 each and described as a maple-iced donut loaded with candied bacon. Am I missing out on this one, or does it take a very special someone to appreciate the benefits of this complicated donut variety? Let me know your thoughts.
