Could Premier Lightning Lane Be a Future Disney Resort Perk?

Disney’s answer to a VIP-feeling Lightning Lane service was just announced today, offering one-time skip-the-standby access to any attraction with a Lightning Lane queue.

At first glance, the Lightning Lane Premier Pass prices are exorbitant. But when you think about what’s really being offered here, and the value of saving time at Disney’s busy parks these days, this seems like a good option for those who want more than the Multi-Pass benefits, but not the full VIP Tour experience. Realistically though, could Walt Disney World offer Lightning Lane Premier Passes as an included perk, or even at a discounted rate, when staying at some of their Deluxe Resort Hotels? Or could this become a Concierge Club Level perk?

When comparing the same skip-the-line offering from Universal Orlando Resort, their Express Pass prices range from $90-$380 in addition to your park ticket. However, the real deal here is that Universal includes Unlimited Express at three of their Signature Collection hotels. Of course, nightly rates range throughout the year. But with some strategic planning, this perk often pays for itself; offering all guests staying in the room free Unlimited Express Passes each day of their stay. No, Universal isn’t Disney, and vice versa, but we can’t help but wonder if a similar perk could be on the horizon for Disney Resort Hotels. What do you think?
