Angela Lansbury sings “Beauty and the Beast” to celebrate film’s 25th anniversary

To celebrate the 25^th anniversary of the release of Beauty and the Beast, the film was screened at Alice Tully Hall in New York. As a special part of the event, Angela Lansbury, who voiced Mrs. Potts, made an appearance and sang the film’s award-winning title song “Beauty and the Beast.” She was accompanied on the piano by Alan Menken, one of the song’s co-composers.

Beauty and the Beast was released on November 22, 1991 and was the first animated film to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture. A new live-action version will be released on March 17, 2017.
