Rood was executive vice president at DC Entertainment from 2010 to 2014 and prior to that worked for the Walt Disney Company for 10 years, including six as the senior vice president of marketing for ABC family.  Most recently, he has been doing some consulting work with the Disney Channel.

Rood will report directly to Gary Marsh, who is president and chief creative office for Disney Channels World Wide, which not only includes the Disney Channel, but also Disney XD and Disney Junior.

According to Marsh, “John Rood is a maker and a builder, with a rare combination of creative and strategic leadership skills and an innate understanding of the Disney brand.”
