Temporary Closures Announced for Popular Walt Disney World Attractions

Walt Disney World has announced upcoming temporary closures for three beloved attractions scheduled for routine maintenance or major refurbishment in the coming weeks. While these closures may disappoint some visitors, they ensure that the attractions continue to operate safely, efficiently, and with the high standards Disney fans expect. Here’s what you need to know:

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin

Most exciting of all, Magic Kingdom‘s Space Ranger Spin is set for major upgrades, including new ride vehicles, removable blasters and individual laser effects, a new animatronic and ride scene.

In order for these [much-needed] enhancements to happen, the attraction will close on August 4th; meaning the last day to ride the current version is August 3rd. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will reopen sometime in 2026.

Spaceship Earth

EPCOT‘s iconic dark ride (no, but it’s really inside the park’s icon) will close for routine refurbishment beginning August 25 and is scheduled to reopen later this year.

We all know Spaceship Earth needs much more love than some routine maintenance, we can only hope to hear some news at the upcoming Destination D23 event!

Under the Sea ~ Journey with the Little Mermaid

The Little Mermaid dark ride in Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland will close for routine refurbishment on July 21st, and is set to reopen just a few days later on July 26th.
