For guests splitting their Anaheim visit between a trip to Disneyland and an event at the Anaheim Convention Center, there are several brand-name hotels that serve the immediate convention area, including the budget-friendly Clarion Hotel Anaheim Resort, a Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotel.
The Disneyland Resort is surrounded by locally owned and chain non-Disney eateries, lodging and more, so sometimes there are some great options (and values) to be had just outside of the gates. When it comes to hotels, Disney has its Good Neighbor Hotels, which can be included with your park tickets as part of a Disneyland Resort Good Neighbor Hotel Vacation Package.

Located just east of the Anaheim Marriott, the 284-room Clarion is steps away from the Convention Center and a short walk to the Disneyland Resort.
Most rooms feature either two double beds or a king bed; however, junior suites are available with both bedding options.
My room had two comfortable beds, fitted with simple white bedding and plenty of fluffy pillows. The nightstand between the beds included a multi-port charging station for your electronics.

The spacious room included two large chairs and a small dining table, a large dresser, a small television, and a sizable refrigerator.

Most of the rooms at the Clarion also include a small balcony. Mine overlooked the hotel’s main entrance. Unfortunately, there are several hotels between the Clarion and Disneyland, so while you might be able to hear the nightly fireworks, there isn’t much of a view.

Jumping back to the entrance of the room, you’ll find the standard motel setup, with a safe, luggage rack, iron and ironing board.

The restroom is located near the entry and features a nice-sized countertop with room to move around. The toilet and bath are in their own room for privacy.

For the price, the room was clean, comfortable, and convenient.

The Clarion offers many of the amenities of the other convention hotels, just on a smaller scale. Off the main lobby is a bar that is open most evenings and a large restaurant that offers breakfast at an additional cost. Guests can order from a small menu or choose the buffet. The current adult price for the buffet is $17.50, which includes coffee, tea, or juice. Kids 3-9 are $8.50; however, a promotion was offering a free kids’ entree for each adult entree purchased. The a la carte menu featured a breakfast burrito, panini, eggs and bacon, or an omelette. Pricing was $12.95-$14.95, not including beverages.

Also near the lobby is a fitness center and a large business center.

If you need snacks during your stay, the Clarion has a small gift shop with drinks, sweets, chips, and a few souvenirs. Guests scan and pay for their own items using a kiosk.

The Clarion has a nice sized heated pool with a good amount of seating. However, bring sunscreen as shade is at a premium.

The Clarion Hotel features plenty of outdoor parking at $28 (plus tax) per night. However, because I booked with the Walt Disney Travel Company through Dreams Unlimited Travel, my parking was free.

If you are looking for a budget hotel near both the Anaheim Convention Center and the Disneyland Resort, the Clarion Hotel Anaheim Resort should be on your short list.
