Earlier this year, Walt Disney World confirmed the return of its Cool Kid Summer campaign in 2026. While official details remain scarce, a new announcement Tuesday morning offered an exciting peek: at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the party will get a big upgrade. Starting summer 2026, families can expect a new Bluey experience at Conservation Station – with the beloved pup Bluey and sister Bingo leading meet-and-greets, dance moments, and photo ops. Real-life Australian critters will also appear, adding a touch of wildlife fun to the mix.
If 2025’s Cool Kid Summer is any guide, guests hoping for more than just Bluey may get a full return of kid-friendly fun across all four theme parks and select resort hotels. Last year, DJ-led dance parties, surprise character appearances, roaming entertainers, hands-on crafts, splash zones, and chill indoor activities to beat the heat were featured.
In Magic Kingdom, families could hand out in the shade at the popular Big Top Bash in Storybook Circus. That event included a DJ ringmaster, Pluto pop-ups, circus games, stilt walkers, and a carnival-style vibe. Tomorrowland saw the space-themed Galactic Blast dance party featuring Stitch and galaxy-themed crafts, giving older kids – and teens – a place to dance and get their wiggles out.
At Animal Kingdom, Cool Kid Summer included a special nature-centric twist. Children had the opportunity to earn a limited-time Wilderness Explorers badge, join pollinator crafts at Rafiki’s Planet Watch, and enjoy the “Celebration Sing-Along” at Discovery Island, highlighting the park’s wildlife.
Over at EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the 2025 edition brought indoor crafts, games, surprise character sightings, and DJ-led dance parties in designated play zones. EPCOT even transformed CommuniCore Hall into “GoofyCore” for families who wanted to dance, play, and cool off indoors.
Looking at the 2026 tease with Bluey, we hope Disney builds on that momentum across the parks. Imagine an updated Big Top Bash with Bluey joining circus games, a revamped Galactic Blast featuring new characters, or even water-play zones themed to Aussie animals near Conservation Station. The Bluey meet-and-greet could surely attract families earlier in the day – good news for busy summer crowd levels.
With summer 2026 still several months away, nothing is set in stone. But given how Cool Kid Summer rolled out last year and the excitement stirred by today’s Animal Kingdom announcement, there’s reason to expect a full return of kid-centric entertainment. If Disney weaves Bluey into its offerings, Animal Kingdom could become a must-visit for families seeking character fun, animal encounters, and summer-ready activities.
