Guests visiting the World Nature neighborhood at EPCOT in Walt Disney World have something new and quietly magical to discover inside The Seas with Nemo & Friends. A recent post shared by Dr. Mark Pennington revealed the arrival of new sea dragons, now on display in the nursery on the pavilion’s second floor.
The short video posted below shows the sea dragons gliding gracefully through the water, showcasing their delicate movements and intricate patterns. With their leafy appendages and slow, drifting motion, the sea dragons are a natural fit for the calming atmosphere of the Living Seas pavilion and offer a fascinating look at one of the ocean’s most unusual creatures.
Sea dragons are close relatives of seahorses and pipefish, and their ability to blend into their surroundings makes them especially captivating to watch. Their arrival adds another layer of interest to the nursery area, which already gives guests a behind-the-scenes look at how Disney cares for and studies marine life at EPCOT.
The Living Seas pavilion is a quieter (and cooler!) stop than the park’s headline attractions, but new additions like this keep it worth slowing down for to explore. The nursery, in particular, is a great, air-conditioned place to linger, offering close-up views of marine animals and a chance to learn more about conservation and animal care.

The new sea dragons can be viewed daily during regular park hours, and guests interested in marine life, photography, or simply enjoying a peaceful moment away from the crowds may want to make time for a visit. If you’re planning a trip to EPCOT soon, this is one more reason to head upstairs and take in the beauty happening just beneath the surface.
I just love learning about new additions in this pavilion. What’s your favorite live animal to see there?
