New class-action lawsuit accuses Walt Disney Parks and Resorts of replacing employees with foreigners

A class-action lawsuit was filed on Monday, December 12, 2016 on behalf of 250 ex-Walt Disney World Parks and Resorts employees who claim that they were laid off in order to train and be replaced by foreigners.

You may remember us telling you back in October/2016 that a judge dismissed the IT workers’ previous lawsuit against Disney stating that “former Disney employees, Leo Perrero and Dena Moore, were off-base in their accusations that Disney and outsourcing firms HCL Inc. and Cognizant Technologies made false statements on certifications for the Visa program.”

This new lawsuit claims that the laid off employees were all “of Indian national origin,” and that the individuals who filed the lawsuit were laid off “based solely on their national origin and race.”

This new class-action lawsuit is going after reimbursement of lost wages, benefits and reinstatement to an equivalent position at Disney including back pay with interest. We’ll keep you posted with any developments.
