There’s something emotional about seeing Cinderella Castle slowly return to its more classic look at Magic Kingdom, and after Disney shared a fresh batch of photos this week, it’s hard not to stop and stare for a minute.

Walt Disney World just shared an updated look at the repainting project, saying the castle is “nearly complete,” and honestly? It looks gorgeous.

For the past several years, Cinderella Castle has carried the brighter pink-and-royal-blue makeover that debuted for Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebration. And look, I know that version became weirdly divisive online, but I’m going to say something controversial here: I actually liked the pink. Pink is my favorite color, so I never hated the makeover the way some Disney fans did. In certain lighting, especially at sunrise or during fireworks, I thought it looked really pretty.
But seeing the softer gray stonework and deeper blue rooftops coming back into focus again? Yeah. This version feels timeless.

The new photos Disney shared really show off how balanced the castle looks now. The bright gold accents still pop beautifully in the Florida sunlight, but the overall color palette feels calmer and more elegant again. It looks less like a temporary celebration overlay and more like the Cinderella Castle people picture in their heads when they think about Magic Kingdom.

And, some of these new angles Disney released are stunning. The photos from behind the castle especially remind you how many details are packed into this thing that most guests barely notice when they’re racing to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train rope drop. The gray stonework, blue rooftops, gold trim, the little gothic-style windows around the back… it all looks incredibly polished right now.

That said, I think this newer version still has warmth to it, which helps it stand out beautifully against those dramatic Florida skies.
Either way, it’s hard to deny how incredible Cinderella Castle looks right now. Fresh paint, bright gold detailing, perfectly cleaned stonework… Magic Kingdom’s centerpiece is having a serious glow-up moment. I can hardly wait to see it during my next visit to Walt Disney World!
And yes, I already know these new castle photos are about to become everybody’s next wallpaper.
