A popular Los Angeles dessert spot is making its way to the Disneyland Resort, and it looks like a perfect fit for warm Southern California days.
Happy Ice, known for its vibrant, fruit-forward Philadelphia-style Italian ice, is set to open a new cart in the Downtown Disney District later this month. The brand, which started as a single food truck in Los Angeles in 2017, has built a strong following thanks to its colorful presentation and fresh ingredients.
This new location will introduce something a little different for the company. According to the announcement, the Downtown Disney cart will feature Happy Ice’s first fully all-natural menu, made with real fruit, pure cane sugar, and premium ingredients. That means no high-fructose corn syrup and no artificial dyes, which is a noticeable shift from the typical theme park frozen treat.
Alongside its signature Italian ice, guests will also be able to try a brand-new dessert called JOY-LATI. This layered option combines Italian ice with vanilla sweet cream, sauces, fresh fruit, and nostalgic flavor combinations like Banana Pudding and Strawberry Shortcake. It’s clearly designed to be a more over-the-top offering compared to a standard cup of ice.
The menu is also expected to include specialty flavors like Berry Bonanza and Cloud 9, along with rotating monthly options to keep things fresh for repeat visitors.
While Disney hasn’t shared the exact opening date just yet, the cart is expected to debut sometime this month, adding another quick snack option to the west end of Downtown Disney.
For guests looking for something light, refreshing, and a little different from the usual ice cream or Dole Whip lineup, this could be one to keep an eye on.
