The Muppets are taking over Walt Disney World attractions once again, this time in a new collection of artwork created especially for Annual Passholders (or anyone who would like to save the images themselves…)
Walt Disney World Annual Passholders shared several new illustrations across their social media channels featuring Muppet characters stepping into familiar scenes from Magic Kingdom. Both landscape and portrait versions of the artwork were released, allowing Passholders and Muppet fans to save them as desktop and phone wallpapers.
Pigs In Space! One illustration puts Miss Piggy in the middle of Tomorrowland, replacing the woman getting her hair done in the futuristic salon scene along the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover. Naturally, Piggy looks right at home receiving a little futuristic pampering.
Over at Pirates of the Caribbean, Kermit the Frog, Fozzie Bear, and Pepe the King Prawn take the places of three of the attraction’s musician pirates. Miss Piggy’s dog, Foo-Foo, even joins the group!
The Electric Mayhem also gets some representation, with Dr. Teeth performing alongside Sonny Eclipse at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café.
Meanwhile, “it’s a small world” has been appropriately overrun by Gonzo, Rizzo, Camilla, additional chickens, and plenty of rats.
The illustrations were created by artists at Disney Television Animation and mark part of the first collaboration between Disney TVA and The Muppets Studio.
That collaboration also extends to the recently released Kermit the Frog Annual Passholder magnet celebrating the 50th anniversary of The Muppet Show. (The magnet was created by Disney TVA artists with a design inspired by animator Paul Rudish’s distinctive take on Mickey Mouse and other Disney characters.)
Dear Disney, THIS is the Muppets and Passholder merchandise we’re looking for! There’s room for Uncle Deadly at the Haunted Mansion, too… anyways, more of this, please! T-Shirts, tote bags, official art prints, maybe?!
