Hey Disney friends. A little classic Disney magic has just made its way into the Loungefly lineup, and this time we are heading all the way back to 1963 for inspiration. The Sword in the Stone introduced us to young Wart, the future King Arthur, as he discovered his destiny with a little help from one of Disney’s most wonderfully eccentric characters, the wizard Merlin. Released on December 25th, 1963, the animated classic follows Wart’s adventures as Merlin teaches him some rather unconventional lessons about life, while the enchanted sword waits for the person destined to become King of England. It’s an iconic part of my childhood and my instant go-to when thinking about the first Disney movie I loved as a child.
Now, more than six decades later, Merlin is getting his own moment in the Loungefly spotlight with a new Sword in the Stone wallet and mini backpack set, and I have to say, this is exactly the kind of classic Disney throwback I love seeing.
