On October 3, 2017 Disney is reviving the classic show on ABC, The Wonderful World of Disney! The network announced that starting this fall they will be airing a two-hour special titled, The Wonderful World Of Disney: The Little Mermaid Live! The special television event will be a combination of both animated and live action musical performances.
The show will feature songs from The Little Mermaid that will be performed by “celebrity artists.” At this time, there aren’t any details on who these celebrity performers may be. The show will be produced by Done + Dusted, and will have “Hamish Hamilton, Ian Stewart, David Jammy, Katy Mullan and Richard Kraft of Kraft-Engel Productions executive producing.”
