Hatbox Ghost returning to Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion

Fans have been speculating for years about the return of the Hatbox Ghost, which appeared in the Haunted Mansion for a short time near the opening of the attraction in 1969. The Disneyland Resort has finally confirmed that as part of the Diamond Celebration for Disneyland’s 60th birthday, the Hatbox Ghost will return to the attraction in May.

Though Disneyland hasn’t confirmed a date, the Haunted Mansion has a brief closure scheduled from May 4th to May 8th. The ghost will be placed between the attic scene and the graveyard scene. A scrim was placed in that location a few months ago (see photo below).
