A man died this morning, May 8, while riding the tram at Orlando International Airport at 5:35am. The tram was transporting the airline passenger from the main terminal to the terminal which houses gates 1-29, when it made an emergency stop. The man was thrown through the front windshield and fell 15 feet to a grassy area below. لعبة الكازينو Later in the day, the tram was still stopped on the track 100-200 yards from the terminal.
An employee of Bombardier Transportation, who initiated the emergency stop, was operating the train. The trams are generally automated throughout the day, but an employee operates them each morning. Trams have a top speed of 27 miles per hour, but it is unknown how fast the tram was going at the time of the incident.
The Orlando Police Department is investigating the incident; the National Transportation Safety Board, the Florida Department of Transportation, Bombardier and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration will likely conduct investigations as well.
The man was taken to Florida Hospital after receiving CPR by an airport rescue crew; he was pronounced dead at the hospital. His name has not yet been released.
Carolyn Fennell, airport spokeswoman, said the airport’s eight trams carry about 100,000 passengers per day. She said the tram windshield is made of laminated, tempered safety glass and is designed not to shatter on impact. موقع 365 سبورت Fennell said the accident is unprecedented and did not impact the day’s flights.
