Disney Debate: Best Special Effect in a Disney Attraction?

Disney Debate: Best Special Effect In A Disney Attraction? Best Special Effect Header

When it comes to theme park attractions, I have to admit we are a little bit spoiled. As Disney fans, we are frequently invited to the most exclusive party, where we experience rides and attractions with an immersive atmosphere that makes us feel like we have teleported into the world of a Disney character.

Technological advancements are pushing the boundaries of our theme park experience so frequently that we don’t always know it’s happening. When bigger announcements show off the triumphs of Disney’s Imagineers, like the Animatronics in Tiana’s Bayou Adventure or the free-roaming Droids being developed in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, it’s easier to see the progress. In other instances, upgrades and additions are seamlessly integrated into existing attractions, and only keen-eyed super fans are able to spot the differences.

Today, we are celebrating the special effects in Disney attractions that make them feel so thrilling, and we want to know which is your favorite one. Keep in mind that it doesn’t have to be a new addition to the parks. For some, your favorite special effect might be the Haunted Mansion Ballroom scene that has enchanted audiences for years. For me, it does happen to be a more recent effect, and that is basically the only reason I keep going on this particular attraction. It’s Rise of the Resistance in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, where the red Lightsaber from Kylo Ren comes down through the ceiling. Don’t get me wrong, I like the rest of the ride, but as a not-so-dedicated Star Wars fan, I need a bit more inspiration to wait in that queue than just my love for the parks. I’ll add the scene just below in a clip so you can see what you think.

What do you think? For this week’s Disney Debate, we want to know your favorite special effect from a Disney attraction and what makes it so special.
