Have you ever tried to recreate a Disney dish at home and found that something is missing? Over the years, I’ve found that the secret often lies in the sauces and condiments. Disney makes a lot of their own sauces, which means that the flavor profile will be unique and hard to replicate without making the sauce yourself. That’s why we thought today might be the perfect day to make some of your own BBQ sauce from Flame Tree Barbecue in Disney’s Animal Kingdom to use at all of those weekend BBQ get-togethers over the Summer. Here is what we are going to need thanks to this Disney Recipe from D23:
Flame Tree BBQ Sauce Makes 1 cup
INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
- 2 tablespoons molasses
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 2/3 cup water
- 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
DIRECTIONS:
1. Combine all ingredients in a 2-quart saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer, reduce the heat to low, and cook for 25 minutes, stirring frequently.
2. Use immediately or store in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
