For years now, fans everywhere have been counting down the days to Disney-Pixar’s sequel to Finding Nemo, a tale that has charmed the hearts of millions. Not surprisingly, the new film, affectionately titled Finding Dory, will bring with it an onslaught of new merchandise for both kids and adults. However, one might not necessarily have expected the likes of diamonds, gold, and silver to top the list. With the Finding Dory Collection by Alex Woo, that is just what you will find splashing into stores.
The Finding Dory Collection features pendants, bracelets, earrings, and charms focusing on the film’s two main characters, Dory and Nemo; there are also a few bonus pieces depicting the fish silhouette found in the franchise’s logo. The best part? Dory and her fish friends are dressed to the nines in shimmering white gold with diamonds, 14-karat yellow gold, or sterling silver.
Woo, who recently attended the Finding Dory premiere in Los Angeles, has always had a love affair with aquatic life. In fact, Disney’s The Little Mermaid is one of her childhood favorites. According to the designer’s website, “Alex designed the [collection] with a timeless charm so fans can pass down their love for the films to future generations.” These adorable charms are sure to be a memento for Disney-Pixar fans as well as those who have a passion for the sea.
What I love the most about the Finding Dory Collection is that it offers a bit of whimsy combined with classic elegance. The designs are not kiddish by any means, yet still bring a dash of playfulness to round out the look. Even better, because each piece is handmade in New York, no two are the same. Talk about a good catch!
The Finding Dory Collection by Alex Woo ranges in price from $48-$1198 retail and can be found both online and in select fine jewelry boutiques.
