Did the New Disney Eats S’mores Collection Flop?

I’ve been patiently waiting for the last installment of the Disney Eats merchandise collection for December. Every month, the formula is the same. The series is released within the first two weeks of each month, and a preview for the next release (and date) will arrive within a week from that. However, this time, something curious has occurred. After the November drop of the Disney Eats Gingerbread series, it was all crickets when it came to previewing the next and final series to arrive. The Stitch Attacks Snacks Collection, which is released alongside Disney Eats and often shares the same monthly theme, stuck to the plan, with the December preview arriving in mid-late November and the series released right on time earlier this month. This brings me to here: waiting not-so-patiently for the S’mores series of the Disney Eats merch collection, with no preview, no release date, and no merch.

It’s unusual to see this sort of radio silence when it comes to one of these timed collections. Apart from a few understandable manufacturing mishaps and delays during the COVID years, they usually run relatively smoothly. In recent days, there have been reports of the Ear Headband showing up in a couple of shops in Magic Kingdom and in the Disneyland Resort without any real promotion and without their accompanying Spirit Jerseys, Loungefly Mini Backpack, and occasional Tumbler. If there was a delay with the release, I would understand, though with no preview or expected date that this series would arrive, it seems more like there was a bigger issue at play from the beginning.

With only twelve days left in the year, I am not sure that we will see the end of this merch collection in 2024, or possibly at all. Let me know if you have seen any of the pieces pop up around the parks. Would you have added the new S’mores merchandise to your Disney Eats collection?
