The magic and the motors are revving up once again as Disney and Formula 1® continue their multi-year “Fuel the Magic” collaboration for the 2026 race season. After that unforgettable moment when Mickey Mouse lit up the Las Vegas Grand Prix last year, this next chapter promises even more storytelling, style, and immersive fan experiences at race weekends around the world. While I was the first to question if the link between Disney and Formula 1® fans was strong enough to sustain this collaboration, I’ve quickly learned the answer is, yes! The season kicks off in a big way at the Australian Grand Prix before racing on to China and beyond, blending the high energy of Formula 1 with the playful personality of Mickey and Friends.
One of the most exciting additions this year is a brand new digital comic series titled Mickey X Formula 1 Racing to the Top! debuting on WEBTOON during the Australian Grand Prix on March 6th. Yep, something in my neck of the world wide woods, Down Under! Designed for a new generation of fans, the series follows Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy as they rally together to support a racing team in crisis, showcasing friendship and teamwork against the thrilling backdrop of elite motorsport. New episodes will roll out alongside race weekends throughout the season, giving fans something to look forward to between events.
On the merchandise side, the “Fuel the Magic” collection is expanding in a big way. Select races will feature themed fanzone retail pop-ups filled with host city-inspired pieces alongside a core Disney and Formula 1® range. Disney Store is also releasing new items, beginning with an exclusive Mickey Mouse plush dressed in a Formula 1® uniform (so cute!), launching first in Australia. Finally, something down in my end of the world to get excited about. A global release will follow later in the year, along with fresh collaborations across apparel, accessories, and collectibles.
