“Gertie the Dinosaur” – local legend, Hollywood film star, purveyor of ice cream at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has a much anticipated merchandise collection all of her own! If you don’t know Gertie, she is home to Dinosaur Gertie’s Ice Cream of Extinction and is easily seen towering over Echo Lake in Hollywood Studios near 50’s Prime Time Café. Dinosaur Gertie’s offers Mickey ice cream bars and sandwiches plus chocolate and vanilla soft-serve ice cream.
Gertie the Dinosaur has been an icon of Disney’s Hollywood Studios since the park first opened in 1989 as “Disney-MGM Studios.” Since then, Gertie has been featured in promotional art and even as a festive cookie at Jollywood Nights. This left Disney Parks fans only wanting more Gertie, and we finally have a merchandise collection including an all-new t-shirt!
