It’s just a bunch of hocus pocus! Fans everywhere of the cult classic, Hocus Pocus, will delight in limited time merchandise based on the film. Starting in early September, shirts, hoodies, pins, and ornaments will be available that are sure to have you running amuck, amuck, amuck!
Hocus Pocus is a 1993 Disney movie centered around some very daring children’s fight against the Sanderson sisters. After three centuries of banishment, the three witches are resurrected in Salem, Massachusetts on Halloween night and must be stopped. It’s up to two teenagers, a young girl, and a mysterious immortal cat to stop them. The film became an instant Halloween favorite and has even risen in popularity over the past several years. To help celebrate, an entertaining show at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom was created as well as merchandise.
Last year, t-shirts resembling the costumes of the infamous Sanderson sisters debuted. Disney Design Group artist Richard Terpstra used actual high-resolution photos of the dresses when creating the shirts. They, along with a new shirt inspired by William “Billy” Butcherson, will be sold online September 5-11. These will be made of a soft cotton and feature a more relaxed fit as opposed to the tighter style that disappointed some fans back in 2015.
You’ll also find a new shirt and hoodie featuring artwork by Disney Design Group artist Cortney Williams. One of the funniest scenes in the movie features Sarah Jessica Parker’s character, Sarah Sanderson, running “amuck.” Williams designed a shirt with the comical quote that is sure to delight. Other merchandise for Hocus Pocus fans can be found in the Magic Kingdom. This includes a women’s and men’s Sanderson sisters shirt and collectible pin.
I’m so happy to see Hocus Pocus finally get some love from the theme parks. It’s a great film and Halloween tradition in my household. Are you a fan? Let me know in the comments below! Until then, happy shopping!
