Sometimes a piece of Disney merchandise pops up that makes me stop scrolling immediately, and this new Mickey & Minnie Treats Loungefly Mini Backpack did exactly that.
Loungefly shared a first look at the upcoming backpack on social media, confirming that it’s a Disney Parks and Disney Store exclusive. While there’s no word yet on pricing or a release date, I already know this is one I’ll be watching for.
Maybe it’s because whenever someone asks who my favorite Disney character is, I never have just one. It’s always Mickey and Minnie together. I love them as a pair, and some of my favorite Disney merchandise over the years has featured the two of them side by side. This backpack captures that classic charm perfectly.
The print is covered with the most adorable illustrations of Mickey and Minnie enjoying some of Disney’s favorite park snacks, including popcorn, cupcakes, cookies, corn dogs, Dole Whip, and other sweet treats. Instead of feeling busy, the design has a fun, playful look that reminds me of vintage Disney artwork while still feeling fresh.
Then there’s the color palette. The soft mint trim paired with the cream-colored background gives the backpack a light, cheerful feel that’s perfect for the parks or anywhere else, in my opinion. It’s different from the bold reds and blacks we often see with Mickey and Minnie merchandise, and I think that’s part of what caught my attention so quickly. It also reminds me of the very first Dooney and Bourke pattern. Do you remember that one? I still have my purse and wallet, but I don’t carry it anymore as it did that whole yellowing thing.

My favorite detail on this new backpack, though, has to be the front pocket.
Rather than the usual zippered closure we see on the front, Loungefly added a gold Mickey icon that serves as the button for the scalloped mint flap. It’s a small touch, but it’s exactly the kind of design detail that makes Loungefly bags so much fun to collect. And, speaking of scallops, I LOVE those too!
At the moment, Loungefly has only labeled it as “Coming Soon,” and I couldn’t find a listing on either the Disney Store website or Loungefly’s own website just yet. Hopefully that means we won’t have to wait too long before Disney shares pricing and a release date, or maybe a pre-order?
One thing’s for sure: when this backpack arrives, it’s going to be awfully hard for me to resist adding it to my Loungefly collection of one. LOL!
