I don’t usually do this. When I first read that there would be new attraction ornaments arriving this week, I was hopeful that there might be a handful, yet I expected that it also might be limited to the two we saw in the preview picture a few weeks back. It seems to be a growing trend that the term ‘collection‘ can be slapped on Disney’s two items without any backup to provide that wow factor. I had every intention of waiting until our usual Monday Merch Meeting to address the new items. That was until I saw them and went weak in the knees while running for my American Express card. And this body doesn’t usually run.
You might know by now that I love merch based on Disney Attractions. Old, new, or reimagined, I have a soft spot for attraction-based merch that always seems to capture my attention. Maybe it’s the instant reflection on fond memories or the attention to detail that resonates with me; I’m not sure. But I’m all in every time something new comes out. I’m about to show you while we are calling this emergency Mini Merch Meeting and I dare you to tell me these aren’t the cutest Disney items you’ve seen today!
Disneyland Marquee Sketchbook Ornament, $34.99
Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid Attraction Sketchbook Ornament – Walt Disney World, $34.99
Space Mountain Attraction Sketchbook Ornament – Walt Disney World, $34.99
Peter Pan’s Flight Attraction Sketchbook Ornament – Walt Disney World, $34.99
Walt Disney World Main Gate Sketchbook Ornament, $34.99
Walt Disney World Railroad Attraction Sketchbook Ornament – Main Street U.S.A. Station, $34.99
Pirates of the Caribbean Attraction Sketchbook Ornament – Walt Disney World, $34.99
Now, some of you might be thinking that these will be too heavy to hand on your Christmas tree. Totally fair call. I bought a few of the older ones at Disneyland recently, and they are way heavier than you think they should be. If so, you don’t need to miss out on that Disney attraction nostalgia. Take a look at some of the new attraction figures that have just been released from Jim Shore!
José – Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room Figure by Jim Shore, $84.99
The Haunted Mansion Organ Player Glow-in-the-Dark Figure by Jim Shore, $120
Mickey Mouse – Jungle Cruise Figure by Jim Shore, $100
Pirates of the Caribbean Jail Scene Figure by Jim Shore, $120
Can you see what I mean? These could not wait until Monday to share with you. That Jungle Cruise figure belongs on my office desk, and I can’t wait to add it to my attraction ornament collection with some of these new ones. Even if they are favoring the Walt Disney World version of their attractions; I’ll let it slide.
