Happy Boxing Day, everyone! What’s that, you ask? Why it’s the day after Christmas observed as Boxing Day public holiday in many countries, including Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Canada, and a bunch of other places. It was initially celebrated as a day when communities give back to the service industry and the less fortunate though it is mostly now known as a shopping day and the subject of some of the biggest sales in the year.
I like to think of it with a more literal, though entirely irrelevant, meaning when I box up all my Christmas decorations and settle into the summer ahead. Which I have done, and I am now tired enough to overshare the entire paragraph above. Alas, in the more widely accepted spirit of the day, let’s go Disney shopping for the last time this year!
