Should Popcorn Buckets & Sippers Be Sold Outside the Disney Parks?

Hey there, popcorn bucket friends! I was catching up on Disney news earlier this week when I noticed that the new Sam Eagle popcorn bucket has made its way to Disney Springs. It’s great news for collectors who might not have a park ticket but still want to pick up one of Disney’s latest collectible releases. As excited as I was to see it, it also got me thinking. Should more Disney popcorn buckets and souvenir sippers be available outside the parks?

At Walt Disney World, we occasionally see a select few buckets and sippers released at Disney Springs, though it seems to be the exception rather than the rule. Over at Disneyland Resort, I can’t remember seeing them available in Downtown Disney at all. I understand the appeal of keeping some merchandise exclusive to the parks, but Disney Springs and Downtown Disney are destinations in their own right. They are packed with shopping, dining, and entertainment, making them the perfect places to showcase some of Disney’s most popular collectibles.

In fact, I think I’d be more likely to buy a popcorn bucket on a resort day than during a busy park day. When I’m racing from attraction to attraction, the last thing I want is another item to carry around or worry about while hopping on and off rides. On a more relaxed visit to Disney Springs or Downtown Disney, though, it’s a completely different story. I can browse, enjoy a meal, and easily tuck my new bucket into the car or take it back to the hotel without it becoming another thing to juggle all day.

I’m curious to hear what you think. Should Disney make more popcorn buckets and souvenir sippers available in Disney Springs and Downtown Disney, or do you think keeping them mostly inside the parks makes them feel more special? Of course, my vote would always be to have them all sold online so that any bulky item can be shipped straight to my door, but I understand that might be pushing my luck! Let me know where you stand in the comments. I’d love to hear your take! And don’t forget to get your Sam Eagle Bucket in Disney Springs while stocks last!
