Hey howdy hey, and welcome to another feature of vintage finds! As we quickly approach the start of EPCOT’s Flower & Garden Festival next week, garden blossoms and topiaries are cropping up, and we’re getting into a spring sort of mood. When it comes to springtime and Disney, my mind instantly goes to the sweet coming-of-age story of Bambi with its soft, dreamlike seasonal forest artworks.
As one of Walt Disney’s early classic films, the 6th to be exact, you can imagine there was quite a bit of merchandise manufactured around its release. From adorable figurines sourced from Japan in the 40s and 50s, all the way to plushies, backpacks, and embroidered shirts of the 90s, there’s a ton out there. Today, we’re featuring a few favorites I’m twitterpated over, alongside some harder-to-find selections you may not have seen before. Drip drip drop little April shower… let’s dive in!
There are many vintage ceramic figurines of Bambi characters out there, including some questionable chipmunks and rabbit pieces that are still somehow named Thumper, but that’s a rant for another time. This pair from the 1950s are a the perfect addition for your tchotchke shelf.

Need a baby shower gift? This vintage baby blanket from 1970 is an excellent find. The pink-satin trimmed piece features pastel-hued Bambi and Thumper amongst spring blooms. Aside from how soft and adorable this one is, the vintage Walt Disney Productions tag is still in place!

Bright-eyed and bushy-tailed! Manufactured by Mattel, this Bambi plush of the 1990s has those bendable, awkward legs and sweet baby face from his adolescence. This one is a pretty common find, but the price is great, and I give the seller extra points for curating those snowy and woodsy backgrounds as part of the listing.
Available HERE | $9.99
These round souvenir trays are great for displaying, or work well as a coffee table centerpiece to house your coasters, a candle, and TV remotes (hey, that’s what I do). This one is from Disneyland, featuring some of Walt’s early classic characters including Mickey, Bambi, Tinker Bell, Goofy, Pinocchio, and others.

Alright, brace yourself. No, no, Bambi’s mother is still alive… But this vintage brooch from Disneyland is quite… off-putting. I’ve never seen anything like it. The price reflects its rarity and ridiculousness, but I still had to share this one with you. Talk about a deer in the headlights look!

I hope you enjoyed this week’s selection of sweet springtime Bambi goods. Let me know what you’d like to see from my future digs through the trenches of eBay. So long…
