Vintage Disney Shopping: Chloe’s Treasure Thursday

Hey howdy hey! This week’s vintage Disney roundup is heading out to sea with some seriously fun Disney Cruise Line finds.

With Disney Cruise Line recently dropping its summer 2027 itineraries, it felt like the perfect excuse to spotlight some nostalgic treasures from the fleet’s earlier days.

For a quick throwback: Disney Cruise Line launched in 1998 with the maiden voyage of the Disney Magic, followed by the Disney Wonder in 1999. At the time, Disney was stepping into a cruise industry dominated by long-established lines, bringing its signature storytelling, Broadway-style entertainment, and rotational dining concept to the high seas. Over the years, the fleet expanded with the Disney Dream (2011), Disney Fantasy (2012), and more recently the Wish-class ships, each layering in new technology and themed spaces while keeping that classic ocean-liner aesthetic.

For the merch: early Disney Cruise Line logos had that bold, nautical ‘90s flair. Ship-specific items from the Magic and Wonder’s early years feel especially collectible now. There’s something about the old designs… the fonts, the colors, and the slightly oversized graphics that just scream “turn-of-the-millennium vacation energy.”

In honor of those new 2027 sailings (and my ongoing DCL obsession), I’ve tracked down a few unique pieces that would absolutely shine on your next cruise. Because let’s be honest: they really don’t make them like they used to.

Wear this loud, wear this proud. This vintage Jerry Leigh x Mickey Mouse design screams 1990s. Featuring an early hipster Mickey (nautical version) of sorts, with two classic ocean liners that could depict the Magic and the Wonder, but this may even predate Disney Cruise Line’s 1998 debut.

Last up, for today’s relic, I’ll take Things I Never Knew Existed for $500, Alex: A Disney Cruise Line Russian nesting doll set. That tiny cruise ship! Are you kidding me?
