“They don’t make them like they used to.”
Hello treasure hunters, and welcome to a new shopping series curated by yours truly!
There are few things in life I enjoy more than vintage shopping. Whether that’s exploring the endless aisles of a giant antique mall (shoutout to my local Orange Tree Antiques Mall – you must visit next time you’re in Orlando!), discovering small vintage shops while traveling, or digging through the trenches of eBay and other secondhand apps… I’m embarrassed to admit just how much time I spend looking for specific hard-to-find vintage items, and for a reasonable deal at that.
I’m pleased to share some of my fun finds here with you, dear reader. Being that we’re all Disney enthusiasts here, my lists will mostly feature vintage Disney memorabilia. Each week, I’ll showcase a few of my handpicked favorites that are available to purchase online (if I haven’t already added it to my cart, that is). If you have anything you’d like to see in the future, please, let me know! I’ll expand my searches to include specific parks, characters, or themes to suit your requests. And with that, here’s my first week of selections!
First up, these 1960s vintage Dennison Disneyland party decorations will liven up any wall space. Featuring an adorable Dumbo, Bambi, and Scamp. Their faces are so sweet, and the color palette is perfect for a nursery… or Disney collectibles room (I know you’ve got one). I’d be tempted to keep them in that vintage Disneyland packaging!

Spirit Jersey, who? This 1980s vintage long-sleeve EPCOT shirt is grand and miraculous. Featuring sleeve logo details, a small EPCOT Center logo on the front, and Spaceship Earth prominently on the back set amongst a full rainbow and palm trees. Size XL. So uh, I’ll meet you at Horizons?

My birthday is coming up soon… it’s in February. Okay, but I can’t be the only one who wants birthday cake every day? Well, now YOU can! Seriously, how cute is Mickey atop this vintage 1978 Walt Disney Productions cookie jar? Utilizing vintage lunch boxes and cookie jars as storage vessels are my jam.

Finally, we have something for my fellow Muppet babies out there: 1985 Vintage Muppet Babies Tote. I’ve never seen anything like this before. It’s been sitting on my watchlist for a few months now, but she deserves a good home. The molded 3D PVC face of Miss Piggy is too much. Or just enough? She’s a little pricey for a small tote bag, but truly a rare piece! And how cute would she be with your next Flower & Garden Festival look?

That’s a wrap on this week’s – and my very first – Treasure Tuesday! Thanks for tagging long, and let me know what you’d like to see moving forward. Happy hunting!
