A Disney vacation is up there, and it is one of our most exciting experiences, but the fun doesn’t have to end when you return home. Many Disney fans I know keep a secret stash of collectibles in their home to help them feel connected to the place they love. For some, like myself, it’s Minnie Mouse ear headbands. Okay, fine, accessories and homewares too. For others, it might be pins, plush toys, or more current merchandise like the Stitch Attacks Snacks 2024 collection or the Disney Eats Snacks 12-Part Series. Whatever it is, it’s that little piece of Disney merch that makes you feel like you just need to have it, even from the other side of the world.
Today I want to know what you collect. If you have a Disney collection of something, albeit Spirit Jerseys or Light Sabers, we want to know what makes your Disney fandom tingle at the thought of adding a new little something to your collection. Don’t worry if you think your answer sounds silly; you would be surprised by the answers I have heard over the years. I knew one woman who would collect menus from everywhere they went, back when the large paper ones for kids had activities on them. Another fellow I know collected frames for photos of his kids as they would take an annual photo in the exact same spot against a Main Street, U.S.A. lamppost to show how their family had grown. Another collects ornaments for their tree on every trip. Okay, whatever, that one is me again. I have a Disney collection problem, alright!?
What is your secret Disney collection that keeps your connection to the magic alive when you aren’t in the Disney theme parks?
