It’s almost time to see the public opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. We’ve been counting down the days as the new attraction splashes through preview season, and so far, it’s looking like a brilliant re-imagination of the Splash Mountain ride that sat here before it. We’ve already taken a look at some of the merchandise and special treats that will be available in Magic Kingdom to celebrate the opening; however, there is one item that I really need to draw your attention to.
Hidden in the mass of merchandise pictures are these gorgeous new firefly toys that I have a feeling might be to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, what the Shoulder Banshees were to Pandora: World of Avatar‘s Flight of Passage attraction back in 2017. The word on the street is that these adorable little interactive fireflies will be priced at $32, and light will light up when near other fireflies. How cute is that? Just like in the movie Princess and the Frog, these little guys love company and will glow when near others to show their friendly side. I’ve also seen some reports that they will be wearable on the shoulder.
From a closer look at these provided yesterday, they come in a beautiful little glass-like enclosure so you can take your firefly on adventures with you either in the Magic Kingdom Park or at home when you need a special friend and a bit of extra light. I already know that I won’t be able to help myself and will need one of these as soon as possible. The new attraction, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, will open to Magic Kingdom guests on June 28th.
