Dining and Restaurants

California Grill

There are no restaurants located inside the Bay Lake Tower building (with the exception of the Top of the World Lounge); they are all located in the main building at Disney's Contemporary Resort which is a short walk over the bridge that connects the two.

California Grill

One of the best views of the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom Park is from the California Grill on the 15th floor of Disney's Contemporary Resort. If you're lucky enough to dine here during fireworks, the music is piped in, so you can get the full effect of the show.  If you don't get a good enough view from your table, head outside to the terrace area* surrounding the restaurant for the best view on property. The award-winning restaurant is open from 5:30 p.m. to 12 a.m. and the lounge, where cocktails, California wines, bottled beer, appetizers and desserts are served, is open from 5:30pm - 1am. The restaurant menu changes according to the season and specializes in Californian-style cuisine. The open kitchen features sushi, pizza baked in wood-burning ovens, grilled meats, poultry, seafood, and vegetarian dishes. Advance Dining Reservations are strongly recommended.

*The terrace is only for restaurant guests. However, if you are done with dinner before it's time for fireworks, bring back your receipt and you will be allowed up to the terrace. Same day only.

Contempo Cafe

The Contemporary Resorts Contempo Cafe is open for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Late Night Dining.

Contempo Cafe

Cove Bar

Private pool bar serving drinks and snacks for those guests enjoying a stay at Bay Lake Tower.

Chef Mickey's

One of the most popular spots for character meals is Chef Mickey's. Visit with Chef Mickey himself, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Donald, and Daisy here. A breakfast buffet is served from 7:00am to 11:1 am and features bagels, fresh fruit, omelets, Mickey-shaped pancakes and waffles, breads, and other traditional breakfast dishes. Brunch is served from 11:30am – 2:30pm and dinner hours are 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Peel-and-eat shrimp, prime rib, parmesan mashed potatoes, chicken, seafood, pastas, and a salad bar are offered at the dinner buffet. Advance Dining Reservations are required.

Steakhouse 71

Steakhouse 71 is located just off the lobby in the Contemporary Resort and has become a highly-recommended hidden gem since it switched over from The Wave. The restaurant’s theme harkens back to the design style of the 1970s, reimagined in a contemporary, comfortable and sleek way. The space gives off a vibe that is similar to the former Steakhouse 55 that used to be located inside The Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, CA, and even plays the soundtrack from that location.

Diners can feast on a delicious menu that offers a nod to Walt Disney himself with dishes inspired by some of Walt’s favorites, including The Steakhouse 71 Feast or Walt’s Prime Rib Hash for breakfast and French Onion Soup, Prime Rib, 6-oz Filet Mignon or Dry-aged Bone-In Pork Chop for lunch or dinner. Classic cocktails and a portfolio of Disney family wines are also available.

In-Room Dining

Top of the World Lounge

One of the most exciting features of Bay Lake Tower is the Top of the World Lounge which was named after the original restaurant located at the Contemporary Resort. The outdoor deck offers unparalleled views of the Magic Kingdom Fireworks and the music is piped in so guests can enoy the experience almost as if they're standing right there in the Magic Kingdom. (Access is limited and usage guidelines are enforced.)

TIP: Be sure to ask about the special 7-layer cake that is only served at this location – it's NOT on the menu. If you've got a sweet tooth, this dessert is sure to satisfy it. Also, the slice of cake is giant and made for two – or not!
