Dear Cast Member,
I know you’re not necessarily where you want to be right now. I know that your plans and everyday lives – like all of ours – have been tossed in the air. If it’s okay, I’d like to send a few words your way today from the heart of a Disney Parks fan.
We see you. We’ve seen you on social media as you’ve recreated moments from your everyday life that aren’t so everyday right now. We’ve loved watching you lead us on virtual tours of Kilimanjaro Safaris, and we’ve watched in suspense as Indiana Jones dodged spears in the hallway of his home. We’ve seen videos of you virtually passing your beloved cast member name tag to another cast member, all the while keeping a smile on your face. You simply must do what you’ve been called to; you are a magic maker, and you’ve continued creating magic even while you’ve been at home.
We see you. Throughout this time of temporary closure, when we couldn’t be in the parks we love no matter how much we wanted to, we Disney fans have been scrolling back though our Disney vacation pictures. We’ve been taking Peach’s advice, and we’ve been finding our happy place. And guess what? Your faces are scattered throughout our snapshots.
You were the one taking our family’s group photo in front of the castle. You were the one who made our favorite meal. You’re the one who made sure that our seat belts were securely fastened before we zoomed off on our favorite ride. You were the one who heard that this snack was going to be my mom’s first Mickey Bar ever, and you gave it to her for free.
You’ve greeted us, you’ve celebrated with us, you’ve shared your knowledge with us, you’ve performed for us, and you’ve welcomed us home. Time and time again. You are a part of the precious memories that are helping to keep us going right now, and we can’t thank you enough. We can’t wait to snap new pics and make more memories with you.
We’ll see you again. We know that this moment is scary. There are questions around every corner it seems, and we all just want things the way they were. We Disney fans will be back with you before we know it, and we’ll all be together again. On that first moment back in a Disney park or resort, we’ll celebrate with you. We know you’ll be excited just to be back doing the thing that you’re so good at, and we’ll be sure to give you a wink and do a little happy dance as we walk in. We can’t wait, and we know that you can’t wait, too.
Dear cast member, thank you. We’ll see you real soon.
Deni loves all things Disney, and, in 2013, moved to the Magic from Maryland. Walt Disney World is her happy place, and she loves getting to share it with others. Deni and her husband of almost 26 years have 2 grown children. Her favorite WDW snack? A Mickey Bar, of course. Is there any other?!
