On Thursday, July 17, 2025, the Disneyland Resort, affectionately known as The Happiest Place on Earth, celebrated its 70-year anniversary by paying tribute to the individuals who have helped create those cherished memories: the cast members of the Disneyland Resort.

Disneyland Resort began its 70th anniversary celebrations with a special morning event exclusively for cast members (and select invited media) in Disneyland Park, featuring distinctive photo settings like the 70th Anniversary Hot Air Balloon, live performances, and a flag-raising ceremony in Town Square that included veteran cast members.

Bob Iger, the Chief Executive Officer of The Walt Disney Company, along with Josh D’Amaro, the Chairman of Disney Experiences, spoke to the cast on Main Street, U.S.A. Following this, they joined Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse to ceremonially ring the opening bell of the New York Stock Exchange and took a unique cast photo together.

Following the opening of Disneyland, Bob Iger joined the cast members of Disneyland Resort along Main Street, U.S.A., to greet guests as they entered the park.

“It was on this day in 1955 that Walt Disney opened the gates of Disneyland for the first time and introduced the world to this very special place,” Iger said to guests. “70 years later, Disneyland remains one of Walt’s greatest achievements – a place where generations of people from all over the world have stepped through these gates and entered a world of joy and imagination.”
